Incorporate colors of the color wheel
MY DESIGN GOALS
Create harmony within the set
Use two different materials
MATERIALITY INSPIRATION
I knew I wanted to do something fun and colorful. I chose acrylic plastic for the main body of the pieces because of its transparency, this allowed the colors to layer and mix depending on the way the piece would be turned. Creating new hues, this property of acrylics perfect aligns with color theory adding a playful element to the original game of chess

FINAL DESIGN ITERATIONS
Ultimately at this point I was trying to determine, which base was more pleasing, and what analogous colors I should use!
PROTOTYPING PAPER AND PLASTIC
CASTING AND MOLDMAKING
A big part of this process was figuring out how to cast to really start to tie these pieces together. I used white resin firstly as it sets quick to get an understanding if my piece was going to work, I then followed up by using cement to start producing my bases.
